XP SafeGuard is a system modification and customization tool. It allows you to change certain settings in your system that can't be otherwise modified without the use of the Registry editor to modify the registry manually. There are some settings that you can actually change via the Control Panel.
The application shows in its main window a list of categories which contain a list of tasks. Each of these changes a system setting. By checking a task and clicking on "Apply" you will be telling the app to carry out the action described in the task. To give you an example, if you look into "General", you can disable compressed folders if you check the first task.
If you want to apply more than one task at a time, you can either check several tasks or simply check the whole category, which will execute them all. The other option is to use one of the configuration profiles. These are pre-configured settings that will carry out different tasks from different categories. You can also customize your own profile.
One thing I didn't like is that whenever you apply a setting, you have to go back to the list of tasks. You have to re-open the application.
There is a restore function for those tasks that don't do permanent damage to your computer. In other words, you should research before disabling any essential systems on your computer.
